In this 4 week course, participants will learn major characteristics of each of the 7 main chakras as well as practice asanas (yoga poses) on the mat to align with each one. Learn how to use other elements in daily life to balance each chakra as well.

Weightlifting is a form of strength training with positive physiological outcomes on muscles, connective tissues, and bones. This class will use a combination of Olympic and Power Weightlifting techniques to develop barbell skill and strength. Strength training is one way we can improve the durability and vitality of our body, reduce the risk of disease, and improve mind-body wellness.
Students taking this class will need to purchase a student semester membership to the Madison College Fitness Center, unless you are also taking degree credit classes. Cost of semester membership is $30. Students will be able to use the Fitness Center outside of class time during normal business hours.

While healthy eating and exercise are important, lasting results also depend on managing stress, practicing self-care, and developing a positive mindset. The course includes one individual coaching session with the instructor, to be used within 30 days of the first class.

This combination classroom and movement class will introduce the 8 limbs of yoga. Students will participate in yoga poses, breathing techniques and guided meditation practices used in the 8 limbs. This class will help students understand the yoga tradition and history and help them move, breathe, relax and focus to improve their own quality of life.
