In this adventurous beginner and beyond class you’ll make a beanie style hat with a color gradient design. We’ll use this project to explore stranded colorwork, including uses, tips, techniques and troubleshooting. We’ll also touch on working in the round, reading patterns and charts, and color theory in fibers. If time allows, we’ll talk about creating your own designs.

Students should know basic crochet stiches -- such as chain, slip stitch, single and double crochet – and have experience completing a few projects. Students will need to supply their own materials (yarn, hook, notions) for the class project. Details will be sent prior to class.

 

Ready to knit your first sweater? In this class, you'll learn to create a custom-fit, top-down raglan pullover while building the skills and confidence to tackle future sweater projects. You'll practice knitting in the round, shaping with short rows, increasing and decreasing stitches, using the Magic Loop method, and finishing with duplicate stitch techniques. Designed for knitters who are comfortable with the basics, this class will guide you through every step of creating a sweater you'll be proud to wear.

Knitting is both a time honored and rapidly growing craft that offers fun, relaxation and the joy of creativity. In this class, you’ll learn how to choose and interpret a pattern and select equipment and yarn. You will also learn to cast on, knit, purl, fix common mistakes, knit in the round, and bind off a project. You will leave the class with finished projects. No prior knitting experience needed.

Crochet is the latest hot fiber art and a great hobby for the summer months. In this class you will learn equipment selection, basic crocheting stitches and processes, pattern interpretation, yarn study, perfecting gauge, and joining a seam. We’ll work on fun, useful and interesting projects to perfect your skills. No prior crochet experience is required for this class.

In this Adventurous Beginner and beyond class you’ll make a scarf with a graphic swirl design. We’ll use this project to explore intarsia colorwork, including uses, tips, techniques and troubleshooting. We’ll also touch on reading patterns and charts, finishing techniques and color theory in fibers. If time allows, we’ll talk about creating your own designs.

Have you mastered the knit and purl stitch and are ready to up your knitting game? In this class we will learn to create lace, cables, mosaic color-work and stranded color-work in small doable projects. Skills will include reading pattern charts, provisional cast-ons, seaming pieces, icord, and correcting tension, among others. You must have basic knitting skills.

Ready to move on from basic crochet? Intermediate crochet will advance your skills by exploring more involved stitch combinations, textures, color work and cables as well as delving into shaping techniques and garment construction. Depending on class preferences we may also work at complex amigurumi. You will always have a choice of projects to pursue.
